The Fine Print: Shipping, Returns and Exchanges

The fine print, decoded

Shipping: $5 under $50, $8 at $50, free at $60 in the US. Pickup at either shop is free.

Returns: 3 days from delivery, new or slightly used, in store or by mail. Exchanges: 30 days on stock tees for a different size.

Made for you: word caps, beanies and custom prints are yours to keep unless they arrive wrong. Then we fix it.

Christmas: made-to-order gifts by December 10. We ship all year.

01 · Shipping

Outside the US: a flat $45, since we have not figured out teleportation yet. Duties and taxes, where they apply, are on you.

Some tees and caps are printed to order by our print partner and may show up in a separate package. Checkout shows the full shipping cost before you pay, and the $60 rule still covers the whole order.

Pickup. Choose Pickup at checkout and collect from 304 E 5th St in the East Village or 1630 E 6th St #104 in East Austin, no charge. We email you when it is ready.

02 · Timing

How long it takes

In-stock items ship within a week. Made-to-order items ship after they are made:

  • Custom word caps: about 5 to 7 days to make, then shipping.
  • Custom word beanies: 1 to 2 weeks to make, then shipping.
  • Print-partner tees and caps: a few days to print, then shipping.

You get a tracking number by email the moment it leaves. For gifts to land by Christmas, order by December 10. We keep shipping after that, with no promises on the 25th, and both shops print custom tees while you wait if you are in New York or Austin.

03 · Returns

Changed your mind?

We accept returns of both defective and non-defective products within 3 days of delivery, for items that are new or slightly used. Bring it to either shop or mail it back. You cover the return label. No restocking fee. Refunds go back to your original payment method within 14 days of the item reaching us. This covers orders shipped to the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.

  1. Email aliensofbrooklyn@gmail.com with your order number within 3 days of delivery.
  2. We reply with the return address or the in-store instructions.
  3. Send it or bring it. Refund within 14 days of arrival.

04 · Exchanges

Wrong size, right shirt

Stock tees, baby tees and crop tops can be exchanged for a different size within 30 days of delivery, as long as they are unworn, unwashed and still tagged. Email us with your order number and the size you need. You cover the postage to us; we ship the replacement free. If we sent the wrong size, we cover both ways.

05 · Made for you

Custom is yours

Custom word caps and beanies, custom shirts and anything printed with your own image are made just for you, which is the whole point, and the reason they are not eligible for return or exchange. Check the word and the size before you order, and email us first if you are not sure. We would rather answer a question than make a hat nobody wears.

06 · When we get it wrong

Damaged or not what you ordered

Email aliensofbrooklyn@gmail.com within 7 days of delivery with your order number and a photo. We replace it at no cost, or refund it if a replacement is not possible. No form, no fight.
