01 · Who we are

An independent brand

Aliens of Brooklyn is an independent streetwear brand founded in Crown Heights, Brooklyn in 2012, with shops at 304 E 5th St, New York, NY 10003 and 1630 E 6th St #104, Austin, TX 78702. "Aliens of Brooklyn," the alien mark and our original designs, product names and photographs are the property of Aliens of Brooklyn and may not be reproduced for commercial use without written permission.

02 · Not official, on purpose

No affiliation, no endorsement

Our pop culture pieces are commentary on and parody of the celebrity and tabloid culture of the 1990s and 2000s, made as collage and altered artwork with a point of view; the essay The Tabloid Era explains the work. They are not official merchandise. They are not affiliated with, sponsored by, licensed by or endorsed by any artist, celebrity, performer, studio, network, label, team, publication or brand depicted or referred to. Names and titles are used to identify the subject of the commentary, not to claim a connection.

03 · What we print for you

Custom printing content policy

In both shops and through the online request forms, we print images, artwork and words that you own or have permission to use. We do not print logos, brand marks, official artist or team merchandise designs, or anything that is hateful, threatening or unlawful, and we may decline any job at our discretion. By submitting a file you confirm you have the right to use it and you take responsibility for it, as set out in Sections 21 and 22 of our Terms of Service. We keep the files you send us for one year so we can reprint or answer a question, then delete them.

04 · If we got it wrong

Intellectual property complaints

If you believe an item we sell or printed infringes a copyright, trademark, right of publicity or other right you hold, email aliensofbrooklyn@gmail.com with "IP complaint" in the subject line and include:

• the item or page, with a link or a photo;
• the right you hold and, where it applies, the registration or the original work;
• your name, your relationship to the rights holder, and how to reach you.

We acknowledge every complaint within five business days, remove or modify items where a claim is substantiated, and reply with what we did. We will not retaliate against anyone for raising a complaint in good faith.

05 · Credits

Photographs on this site

Shop and product photographs are ours. Photographs of places, objects and events in the Field Guide are either ours or published under Creative Commons licenses and credited in the caption with a link to the source and the license. If a credit is missing or wrong, tell us and we correct it the same day.
